Terms of Service
Last updated: October 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the PhyllHost web hosting platform ("Service"), operated by PhyllHost ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
PhyllHost provides web hosting for static websites, WordPress sites and Node.js applications, including related features such as SSL certificates, content delivery, backups, domain connections and customer support. Feature availability depends on your plan.
2. Accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old, or have a parent or guardian's consent, to create an account.
- You must provide accurate registration information and keep your password confidential.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@phyllhost.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
- One account per customer unless we approve otherwise. We may refuse or close accounts at our discretion.
3. Plans, billing and payments
- Plans are billed in advance on a monthly or yearly cycle, in the currency shown at checkout.
- Payments are processed securely by our payment provider (Paystack). We never store your full card details.
- Prices may change; we will notify you at least 14 days before a change affects your renewal. Existing prepaid periods are unaffected.
- If a payment fails, we will retry and notify you. Services with invoices unpaid for more than 7 days past due may be suspended until payment is received.
4. Refunds
We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on hosting plans: if you cancel within 30 days of your first payment for a plan, we will refund that payment in full. Domain registrations, where offered, are non-refundable once registered. Renewals are refundable within 48 hours of the renewal charge. To request a refund, open a support ticket.
5. Acceptable use
Your use of the Service must comply with our Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Violations may result in suspension or termination as described there.
6. Your content and backups
- You retain all rights to content you host with us. You grant us only the technical permissions needed to store, serve and back up that content.
- We perform routine backups as described for your plan, but backups are a best-effort safety net — you remain responsible for keeping your own copies of important data.
7. Suspension and termination
- We may suspend or terminate services that violate these Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, or applicable law, or that threaten the security or stability of our infrastructure.
- You may cancel at any time from your dashboard; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless you request immediate termination.
- On termination for cause (abuse, non-payment, illegal activity), no refund is owed for the current period.
8. Service availability
We target 99.9% monthly availability for hosting services, excluding scheduled maintenance (announced in advance) and events beyond our reasonable control. This is a target, not a guaranteed service level, and no service credits are offered under these Terms.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PhyllHost is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including loss of data, revenue or profits. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid in the 3 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email or dashboard notice at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Disputes will first be addressed through good-faith negotiation, then through the courts of Ghana.
